Elizabeth Hewatch (NeeUquah) was born on 29th December 1961 to the family of Bishop and Mrs. Samuel Etenam Edoho Uquah of Ikot Ebok in Eket Loca lGovernment Area of Akwa Ibom State.
She began her formal education at St. Secondary School, Calabar, Cross
River State where she completed her Secondary education.
While waiting for admission into University, Elizabeth obtained a Teachers GradeII Certificate from the Teachers Training College, Ikom, Cross River State and there after worked for the Nigerian Chronicle Newspaper, Calabar as abudding journalist and news editor.

A few years later, she gained admission into the University of Uyo, AkwaIbom State where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in English, graduating with honors.

Shortly after, she was employed in the service of the Nigeria Police Force Education Department. where she served in various capacities both in and out of the classroom, bringing incredible transformation to the lives of all who came in contact with her at her various postings which included Calabarin Cross River State, Oji River in Anambra State, Minnain Niger State, Ikejain Lagos State, and finally the Police Children School, Agugu, Ibadan where her last assignment was that of Assistant Head Teacher(Admin).

All her life, even before she became aware of it, Elizabeth had the attribute of a born leader and right from her earl days in Mount Zion Light house Full Gospel Church, Apapa where her family worshipped, those attributes along with her fervent love of God, produced a very dynamic and innovative Youth Fellowship leader.
As the years progressed, her leadership qualities combined with divine enablement through her devotion to God, saw the emergence of an extremely powerful and influential Youth Mentor and Counselor whose positive impact swept across several generations of children and youths like a tidal wave at every station to which she was posted.
While serving at Ikeja, the plight of the widows of deceased policemen caught her attention as they struggled through life without the family breadwinner, and little or no support from the former employers of their late husbands. She then conceived the idea of a periodic outreach to such women to provide their basic needs through gifts and donations from whichever individuals and organizations were willing to support the cause. Thus the “Wings of Love Foundation” was born, and the ‘Widows Outreach’ became a regular annual program, following her from Ikeja to Ibadan. It was at Ibadan that she felt the conviction to establish the orphanage which she believed to be her God-given assignment, the instructions for which she had received at an earlier point in her life. With very limited resources, she proceeded to setup and run the “Wings of Love Children’s Home”, and subsequently found herself always marveling at, and testifying to God’s amazing provision for His inspired project. Elizabeth had a genuine love for people, especially the young as well as the vulnerable, and she enjoyed the respect and gratitude of legions of ex-students who testify that without her guidance and counseling, they have no idea how they might have turned out in life.
She was also well loved by many in the various parts of the country where she had the  opportunity to serve and spread her love, kindness, compassion, care and generosity even in the little that she had. Even those who may have had a grudge against her for being upright and outspoken still could not help but admire her for her firmness, discipline and determination to have things done right. With her departure, Elizabeth has ignited in the hearts of many who knew her, the sudden realization that as it is written in 1Timothy6:6, “Godliness with contentment is great gain”, and her personality aptly serves as an encouragement for the rest of us to reassess our priorities in life and identify what truly matters when it actually matters so that we may not be found
wanting when our own sunsets.

She is survived by her daughter Keira Hewatch, brother Sam Uquah, sisters Gloria Prescod, Grace Mbang-Otu,and Dorothy Anwan, as well as twelve (12) neices and nephews.
Though gone to glory, she will always live on in our hearts.
