Outlook will not open – Microsoft Community

I have microsoft outlook on windows 7. It has been working great for a few months but all of a sudden it will not open, there is no error message at all. It looks like its attempting to load but nothing happens. I have checked the task manager and it is not running at all. What are the updates you have installed?

Try starting the Outlook in the safe mode and check if any add-in is causing this issue. To know how to start Outlook in Safe mode, follow the steps below. If Outlook safe works as expected, disable the add-ins as suggested below:. Click on Go button besides Manage: Com-Add-in. Check if there are add-ins listed, clear the checkbox to disable them. Close the Outlook and restart it.

If the issue persists, you may also try repairing the Outlook data and check if it helps. In case there are any errors in the Outlook data, repairing will help to correct it. I installed Office and it worked fine until I tied to follow the directions I got from MicroSoft page to move Outlook data file to my documents area so it would back up with my other files. Now Outlook won’t open. It merely says “Processing I did you what you suggested and it did allow me to change it back to the original location but it still does the same thing when I try to open Outlook? Create a new Outlook profile with a new pst file.

After that profile is working add the pst file move it to the desired location before adding it to Outlook and set it as default delivery location.
